Beware

The pictures showed this item as black. The one I recieved was pink. Nowhere was it mentioned that the color could vary. I would not have purchased this had I known.

Did Not Work and Fell Apart

Must be a bad lot of late - bought 2. Clearly a slightly different color than the originals (which I own and lasted about a year). Neither of these worked at all for anything I tried - Ipod, Itouch, IPhone. In fact, when I pulled one of them out, it cracked open at the seam at the head to the neck. Am returning for refund - hopefully will get it.

Good value

I bought a eight of these for charging our many idevices in our motorhome.
I don't think they are actual Griffin products as there was no packaging and the Insignia before the GRIFFIN lettering was more orange than red.
Still they all worked remarkably well. They did charge ipad1 and ipad2 as well as iPhones.
However iPad expects to see 5.1volts, therefore if an iPad was charging and I plugged in an iPhone in the second port, the iPad beeped and said 'not charging'. The extra electrical load of the second device obviously pulled the charge voltage below 5.1, which is not a problem for any other idevices except iPads. Other idevices are expecting to see 5 volts, so charging 2 iPhones at one time was not a problem.
I have also received several very similar units which I believe are actual Griffin products from Amazon on a different order at a much higher price.
In those units, the insignia is red, not orange, and those units had no difficulty charging 2 iPads at one time, which is quite electrically impressive!
